Our Favorite Books
Dear Readers,
We are sad to let you know that our dear Mrs. T., who did our wonderful book lists each month, is unable to continue. So, while we're searching for just the right person, I have a terrific book-finding source to share with you. It's offered by the Scholastic Book company, and it's versatility will quickly make you a fan.
They offer several ways to find great books, but my favoirte is the Leveled Search. Using this you can personalize your search by specifying reading level, interest level, and the type of book you're looking for, such as a picture book, early chapter book, or a book for intermediate level reader.. You can get even more specific by choosing among many topic types and genres. For example, need a mystery at the second grade level - no problem. Need historical fiction for a fifth grader who is reading at the third grade level - tons to choose from. Want a picture book for Valentine's Day, or a non-fiction book describing the first Fourth of July - takes only minutes to find a bunch!
I think you'll find this to be an easy and fun way to find an unlimited supply of wonderful books your children will enjoy.
